Researching and building for better learning outcomes
We strengthen the conditions that shape learning, from homes and classrooms to teaching careers
The problem
Learning outcomes are decided long before a child sits an exam
We know where learners end up, but we know far less about what shapes their journey there.
Attainment data can show us learning outcomes, but it does not tell us whether a child has the support they need at home, whether they are safe and consistently present in school, whether good teachers have the conditions to remain in the profession, or whether a student can afford to continue their education.
These factors have a profound influence on learning, yet they remain largely unmeasured.
Without this context, programmes risk being built on assumptions about the problems learners face rather than evidence about what is actually shaping their experiences and outcomes.
Our Approach
2.Build
4.Measure
1.Research
3.Execute
We build products in order to learn, and publish what we learn
Surveys go stale and pilots end. Products that people use every week generate continuous, longitudinal evidence about the conditions we care about. That evidence is the point; the products are how we gather it honestly.
We track key indicators - not just what's happening at the moment, but what's changing over time - using real data to prove impact and guide what's next.
Intermediate indicators, tracked longitudinally rather than at endline.

Three conditions, three lines of work
Each product works on one condition and generates evidence about it.
